JEE Main 2019: This Is What Your Daily Schedule Should Look Like

If you go through our previous blogs, you will find what to do on these like few days for JEE Main 2019 or what your preparation strategy should be. Now, let’s set you up with a daily routine to help you to make the most of the time left for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) in January.

We are not going to lie about JEE Main examination being easy! It is a strenuous exam and without proper planning and a smartly planned timetable.

The Need for a Plan

Do you see yourself making the cut and being an IITian? Well, a goal without a plan is just a wish.

If you haven’t had a proper plan for JEE Main, it will show in your performance. You will feel that time is running faster than usual, you don’t have enough time for revisions and your mock test scores aren’t that positive.

If you think you are not achieving to your potential and your preparations are going haywire, then you are in dire need of a daily plan.

Scribbling a Daily Plan

“You will never change your life until you change something you do daily”.

When preparing for an exam like JEE Main, yielding the maximum output from the 24-hours available is crucial.

After analyzing what previous year’s toppers had to say, our tech geniuses have formulated a timetable for you to follow:

The Next 1 month if you don’t have school (weekends):

 Time Activity What to Study Total Hours
6.30-7.30 AM Wake up & finish your morning activities (Flex your brain and get ready to study)                 –                –
8.00-10.00 AM Study (with a fresh mind) Choose a difficult topic that you want to study or revise. Study shows that this is the best time to study topics that require focus. 3-4 hours

(without a break)

10.00-11.00 AM Take a Break, have breakfast. Read a newspaper or an article if you like. JEE related news & articles will help you keep yourself updated and motivated. 1 hour
11.00 AM-1.30 PM Study In the 1st half hour continue with the topic you have touched upon in the morning half of the day. The next hour choose a different topic or take a mock test of the chapter you have studied. 1-2 hours
2.00-3.00 PM Have Lunch and take a power nap to refresh yourself.                  – 1- hour
3.00-6.00 PM Practice This is the best time to solve mock tests and solve previous year’s papers. With just 1.5 months left for JEE Main exam, try to solve full tests of 3 hours 3-hours
6.00-7.00 PM Take a Break. Go for a  walk or listen to music. Just unwind yourself.                    – 1- hour
7.00-9.00 PM Study Complete/revise 2 to 3 topics thoroughly. 2- hours
9.00-10.30 PM Dinner Break. Watch a series or T.V just to unwind yourself                  – 1.5 hours
10.30-11.30 PM Study Revise the topic/topics that you have studied today. Make notes of the topics you have covered. 1 hour
11.30 PM -12.00 AM Make plans on what to study the next day and hit the bed.                 – 0.5 hours

The Next 1 month during school hours:

7.30 AM Head for school. Many toppers suggest that it is a good habit to utilize the time of the journey to school to study. This is a good time to revise the chapters you have studied yesterday. 0.5 hour
8.00 AM-2.00 PM School Hours Focus in school, learn the concepts if you haven’t already and try to clear your doubts. 6 hours
2.00 to 4.00 PM Head back from the school, have lunch and take a power nap.                   – 2 – hours
4.00-7.00 PM Practice This is the best time to solve mock tests and solve previous year’s papers. With just 1.5 months left for JEE Main exam, try to solve full tests of 3 hours. 3- hours
7.00-8.00 PM Take a Break. Go for a  walk or listen to music. Just unwind yourself.                     – 1-hour
8.00-10.00 PM Study Complete/revise 2 to 3 topics thoroughly. 2- hours
10.00-10.30 PM Dinner Break. Watch a series or T.V just to unwind yourself                    – 1.5 hours
10.30-11.30 PM Study Choose at least 2 to 3 topics/concepts to study/revise. 1 hour
11.30 PM -12.00 AM Study formulas Keep in touch with the formulas (as there are many) and scribble them as notes for future reference.
12.30 AM Make plans on what to study the next day and hit the bed.                                  – 0.5 hours

The last few days

  • Take at least 2 full tests (each test: 3-hours).
  • Avoid making silly mistakes.
  • If there are any shortcomings then no better time to rectify it.
  • Read the notes you have prepared to revise. Here are some tips to revise
  • Avoid Distractions
  • Sleep well and eat healthy food. You don’t want to be bedridden at this crucial juncture of your preparation.
