The Online Registration for WBJEE 2019 is set to begin from December 26, 2018 and will go on until January 22, 2018. WBJEE board has revised the dates for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination 2019 and postponed the same by a week to May 26, 2019. Since the earlier date was clashing with JEE Advanced dates, this change was made. The dates for Admit Card Release and Result declaration have been postponed by a week as well to May 14, 2019 and July 2, 2019 respectively. The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination 2019 is a common entrance examination which will be held in an offline mode (OMR Based examination).
Candidates are required to appear for two papers as far as WBJEE 2019 is concerned:
Paper 1- Mathematics
Paper 2- Physics and Chemistry
Candidates who appear in Paper 1 and Paper 2, awarded with GMR Ranks are eligible for admission to Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy courses in all institutes and educational institutions.
Candidates who appear in Paper-2 alone, awarded PMR Ranks will be eligible for admission only to Pharmacy courses. (Exception: Jadavpur University).
To be eligible for the WBJEE, candidates should fulfill the following criteria:
- The Applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- The candidate should be aged 17 years as on 31.12.2019. A candidate should have been born on or prior to 31.12.2002. No upper age limit has been set for candidates appearing in WBJEE -2019.
- To be admitted to the degree level Marine Engineering Course, the lower age limit is 17 years as on 31.12.2019 while the upper age limit is 25 years as on 31.12.2019.
- A candidate appearing in the “10+2” examination can appear for WBJEE-2019, but shall not be eligible for seat allotment for admission purposes, unless he passes the qualifying examination with the required minimum eligibility criteria.
Admission to Engineering Courses:
- Candidate should have passed “10+2” examination with Physics and Mathematics along with any of the following: Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Computer Application/Technical Vocational subject as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (Theory and Practical) in all three subjects in a regular class mode.
- Students should have obtained a minimum of 45% (40% in case of students belonging to reserved categories) in the above three subjects taken together.
- Students should have passed English in the “10+2” examination with a minimum of 30% marks.
- The Board of the qualifying examination should be recognized by the concerned Central/State government.
The following points are required to be kept in mind while attempting the examination:
- Questions should be answered on specifically designed optical machine-readable response (OMR) sheet, evaluated by Optical Mark Recognition Method. Students should ensure to mark their answers correctly.
- There will be four alternative answers for every question. Candidates will be indicating the response to every question by darkening the relevant circle with a blue/black ball point pen.
- The following ways of marking answers are considered inappropriate which might lead to wrong reading of responses – filling the bubble incompletely, filling with pencil, cross mark, tick mark, circular mark, dot mark or even white ink. WBJEE will be in no way, responsible in case of such eventuality.
- Response marking cannot be edited/modified/changed/erased. The candidate should be sure about the answer before marking the same and should not put any stray mark on any question which he/she does not want to attempt.

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam is conducted by the Government of West Bengal for admission to various government, private and self-financing institutes for the following courses – Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture.
