Due to the last phase of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the JEE Advanced 2019 exam date has been postponed. Previously, the examination was scheduled to be conducted on 19th of May 2019. Keeping in mind both the phases of 2019 General Elections, JEE Advanced 2019 will now be held as per the date given below:

“In view of the clash in the dates of JEE (Advanced) and the last phase of General Elections 2019, the examination date of JEE (Advanced) 2019 has been shifted to May 27, 2019 (Monday). The examination will be held in India and abroad on May 27, 2019 (Monday), in the following two shifts: Paper 1 (09:00 to 12:00 IST) and Paper 2 (14:00 to 17:00 IST).”
The Road to IIT
Earlier, due to the elections, the JEE Main 2019 dates have also been postponed. The JEE Main exam in April was scheduled to be conducted between 7th of April to 20th April 2019. The revised dates on which the Paper 1 of JEE Main 2019 will be conducted are 8th, 9th, 10th and 12th April 2019.
JEE Main 2019 (Paper 1) will be conducted in two shifts: 09:30 to 12:30 (IST) and 14:30 to 17:30 (IST) on the aforementioned dated.
To qualify for JEE Advanced 2019, candidates will have to qualify JEE Main examination. As per the official poster on the JEE Advanced website, top 2,24,000 from the JEE Main (January & April) will be shortlisted for the exam.
Candidates will be shortlisted post the declaration of final result of the JEE Main exam in April 2019. The registrations for the JEE Advanced will commence on the 3rd of May till 9th May 2019.
JEE Advanced Eligibility
- Candidates who have already attempted JEE Advanced in 2017 and 2018 are not eligible for JEE (A) 2019.
- Candidates born before October 1st, 1994 are not eligible to apply for the JEE (A) examination. (Note: this criterion may change later as the final judgment of the Supreme Court to remove age barrier from JEE Advanced examination is yet to be delivered).
- A candidate should have appeared for Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2018 or 2019.
- Candidates should not have been admitted in an IIT or have accepted an offer from an IIT before.
*International students do not require to appear in JEE Main to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2019.
