Worried over overlapping exam dates? Balancing boards and the Joint Entrance examination (JEE) can be tricky and cumbersome. The close proximity of the exams can give a hard time to the aspiring candidates.
With the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducting the JEE Mains twice a year from 2019 onwards have added to the confusion of students. The JEE Main examination is scheduled from 6th to 20th of January 2019. Aspirants are now in dire straits, as the practical examinations of Class 10 & 12 are usually conducted every year in the month of January as well.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) understands the plight of the students for which they are likely to shift the exam dates for the class 10 & 12 examinations. CBSE will be soon announcing the dates of the practical exams followed by the theory examination dates.
Date Shift Expectations
In 2018, the practical examination of class 12 was conducted between 15th to 25th January by CBSE. To overcome the situation, CBSE is contemplating to prepone the practical examinations to December of 2018.
Date shifts aren’t new to CBSE, as the schedule for vocational courses was previously preponed due to it clashing with the JEE Main 2019 examination.
Last year’s JEE Main clashed with the Physical Education examination (in April 2018), creating a ruckus among JEE aspirants.
Repucuission of the decision
The rumor of rescheduling has not been well received by the schools as it gives them limited time to conduct practical examinations in December. The possibility of postponing the practical examination cannot be ruled out either.
Aspirants shouldn’t be bothered with date change as CBSE won’t be scheduling the exams on the same day as JEE Main.
What can one do? Prepare well, take mock tests, revise and let CBSE and NTA worry about clashing exam dates. Get updates
Best of luck!
