Good Notes are like gold, in terms of having value and being timeless for students preparing for the JEE Main examination. While some like to keep their note making procedure simple, some others make it about colors.
There are however a few basics about the same that must be kept in mind:
Using Different Color Pens:
Colors always make a human being recognize things in a better way. The best way to do this would ideally be to highlight important key phrases and sentences with a blue pen, formulae with a yellow highlighter and any other exception with a much more distinctive color.
Different Books for Different Subjects:
The candidate should keep his JEE Main notes well-organized to ensure no panic arises in the course of searching for notes on an important topic. An index with the list of important topics should also be maintained with page number indications for better navigation through the notes.
No repetition of Text Book notes:
The candidate should read his notes properly and know what is in the text book. The text book should be read thoroughly after which insights should be noted down which are given by the relevant faculty.
The objective of note making to ensure good preparation for your exam would be to understand a particular topic conceptually and know the application framework of a particular formula.
Whenever you prepare an initial draft of notes for a topic, ensure you leave a few sheets blank after to note down corrections, changes or better details on a few formulae and concepts.
Across topics when you make notes, make sure to note down limits and application of a particular formula to understand it in a better way. There are many formulae that would have been derived and it is very important to have a perspective on every one of them to avoid a confused mindset before the examination.
Branching out Topics and Outlining:
Branch out topics clearly while making notes either by tree diagrams or by highlighting them adequately. Once you identify the main topic, branch out sub-topics below the same and detail them sufficiently to have a flow through the concept. Once the concept is explained, make a brief note on its application, formula derivation and your own understanding of it to help you associate, to retain information better.
