Due to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the NTA has changed the dates for JEE Main April 2019. Previously, the examination was scheduled to be conducted between April 7 and April 20. Keeping in mind both the phases of 2019 General Elections, JEE Main April ’19 will now be held as per the dates given below:

JEE Main Paper 1 & Paper 2

For JEE Main April 2019, the admit cards shall be released on March 20 on the official website, jeemain.nic.in.
JEE Main Paper 1 will be conducted as a computer-based test (CBT) only. However, Paper 2 will be conducted in two parts on the same day. Part 1 (Mathematics and Aptitude) will be conducted as a computer-based test and Part 2 (Drawing) will be conducted as an offline examination.

JEE Main Paper 1 Shift Timings

JEE Main April 2019 Paper 1 will be conducted in 2 shifts – once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

Morning Shift9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Afternoon Shift2:30 PM – 5:30 PM

The 3-hour examination will be conducted in 3 languages (to be chosen when filling the form) – English, Hindi and Gujarati. For every correct answer, candidates will be awarded 4 marks and for every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted.

Unlike JEE Main Paper 1, JEE Main Paper 2 will be conducted in a single shift only.

Starting 2019, NTA will be conducting JEE Main twice a year, once in January and once in April. Candidates have been given an option to appear for one or both the sessions. However, for candidates who choose to appear for both the sessions, the better score shall be taken into consideration when preparing the merit list.
