Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has announced the examination date for JEE Advanced 2020. It will be conducted on 17th May 2020. JEE Advanced is conducted to grant admission in all 23 IITs in India.
IIT Delhi is the conducting body for JEE Advanced 2020, taking over the mantle from IIT Roorkee, which conducted JEE Advanced 2019. JEE Advanced is conducted in Computer-based mode.
In a meeting held by IIT Joint Admission Board (JAB) on 15th September 2019, a decision among several important decisions was taken to conduct the exam, for the first time, in the US also. San Francisco will be set up as the examination center.
JAB has decided to shortlist 2.5 lakh students (all categories) from JEE Main 2020 to take JEE Advanced 2020.
Regarding the decisions taken by IIT JAB, the director of IIT Delhi, Prof V Ramgopal Rao, said that: “JEE Advanced is an examination conducted by all IITs for admission to IITs. IITs have taken a conscious decision to encourage cultural diversity on their campuses. JEE exam is now conducted in five countries worldwide, and we have added the USA to this list. The US has benefitted significantly by the presence of a large number of IIT alumni there, and there is considerable awareness in the US about IITs. Conducting JEE in the bay area is a logical thing to do.”
JEE Advanced 2020 consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, each of three hours duration and will be held as per the following schedule:
|Paper 1||17th May 2020||09:00 AM to 12:00 PM|
|Paper 2||02:30 PM to 05:30 PM|
The decision to extend Paper 2 by half an hour as compared to 2019, was taken by considering the PwD candidates, said Prof. Siddharth Pandey, Organising Chairman, JEE Advanced 2020.
Students wishing to take admission in any of the IITs must begin preparing for the exam right away. The best way to prepare for IIT JEE is by taking previous year papers. They boost your preparations a lot and help you reach your ultimate goal, which is the IIT.
