JEE Advanced 2019: Application for Foreign Candidates Begins

The registrations for JEE Advanced 2019 has begun for foreign candidates. The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has begun accepting applications for this year’s JEE Advanced for candidates who are not citizens of India. Foreign candidates can register here: Register for JEE Advanced 2019

The last date to apply for JEE Advanced 2019 is 9th of May 2019 and the last date to pay the fee of the examination is 10th of May 2019 (5.00 PM). The application process for Indian students will begin on the 3rd of May 2019 (10 AM).

To be deemed as a foreign candidate

To be eligible to apply as a foreign candidate, the candidate should not be an Indian Citizen by birth or naturalized. Candidates who do not belong to the OCI/PIO category and whose parents are not citizens of the country (who don’t belong to the OCI/PIO category) will be deemed as foreign candidates.

Foreign candidates are not eligible for benefits under reservations.

Eligibility Criteria- Foreign Candidates

  • Foreign candidates are not required to appear in JEE Main to be eligible for JEE Advanced.
  • Age Limit: Candidates should be born on or after 1st of October 1994. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates, who are mandated to serve in armed forces in their countries. To avail age relaxation, the candidates will have to upload necessary documents from the competent authority.
  • Candidates can attempt the examination a maximum of 2 times in consecutive years.
  • Candidates should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) exam for the 1st time in either 2018 or 2019. If the results of the academic year 2016-17 has been declared post-June 2017, then the candidates are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced.
  • Candidates should not have accepted a seat from an IIT or have taken admission in an IIT before.

Class XII (or equivalent) performance

To be eligible for admissions in an IIT, the candidates will have to fulfil the following criteria:

  • Candidates must have secured 75% in their class XII (or equivalent) board examination.
  • Candidates must be in the top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.

  • Citizenship certificate or Passport of both parents
  • Testimonial (if REQUIRED)
