Heads up IIT aspirants! Big news surfaces as JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) Advanced is to be conducted on 19th of May 2019.
Every year a different IIT conducts the JEE Advanced under JAB’s (Joint Allocation Board) guidance. This year IIT Roorkee will be conducting the coveted entrance examination.

To attempt one of the most difficult examinations in the country an aspirant has to first crack the preliminary JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) Main. JEE Advanced was transformed into an online examination in 2017, just as JEE Main this year. Slowly and steadily the entrance examinations in the country are moving towards the online mode.
Once the JEE Main consolidated results (January and April) are out, the registrations for JEE Advanced will commence. Around 1.55 Lakh students qualify in JEE Main exam every year to attempt JEE Advanced.

The pattern of the exam
The online JEE Advanced consists of two compulsory papers each of 3 hours. Paper 1 is usually conducted in the morning half of the day from 9 am to 12 pm and paper two in the second half of the day from 2 pm to 5 pm.
Eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2019
Besides qualifying JEE Main 2019, here are the other criteria that a candidate has to fulfill to be eligible for JEE Advanced:
- A candidate should be born on or after 1st of October 1994. SC/ST/PWD candidates will get age relaxation of 5 years.
- Maximum number of attempts: 2 consecutive attempts.
- A candidate must have qualified class 12 examination or an equivalent exam in 2018 or 2019.
- A candidate must not have taken admission in an IIT or have had accepted a seat in an IIT.
The official mock tests for JEE Advanced will be made available to the aspirant sometime around the third week of December 2018.
