The latest update from the JEE official sources confirmed that “Students who are appearing for JEE Advanced this year will no longer have to pay Goods and Service Tax (GST) at the time of registration.”

Since its implementation, GST has been a continuous controversial affair. With JEE examination too, the existing examination fees was raised by around Rs 500 per student (added GST along with a fee hike).
Students complained about this substantial hike in the fees and hence the GST council decided to withdraw it on examination charges.

Results for JEE Main will be declared on 30 April 2018. The top 2.24 lakh candidates who will clear Mains will be eligible for JEE Advanced, to be conducted on May 20, 2018.
