JEE Advanced 2019: Top 2,24,000 Candidates of JEE Main to be Shortlisted

Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has released the first official introductory poster for JEE Advanced 2019. As per the official poster on the JEE Advanced website, 2,24,000 will be shortlisted for the exam.

The shortlisting will be done post the final result of the JEE Main exam in April 2019. The registrations for the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced will begin on the 1st week of May.

The examination will be conducted on 19th of May 2019 across all centers.

JEE Advanced 2019 Cut Off

The cut-off for the JEE Advanced 2019 exam will be declared post the results of the JEE Main exam. In a circular, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has stated that JEE Main final result will be declared on 30th of April 20119.

Eligibility

  • To be shortlisted for JEE Advanced, candidates will have to place in the top 2,24,000 in the JEE Main 2019 examination.
  • Candidates who have attempted JEE Advanced in 2017 and 2018 are not eligible for this year’s examination.
  • The official poster states that candidates born before October 1st, 1994 are not eligible to apply for the examination. (Note: The final judgment of the Supreme Court to remove age barrier from JEE Advanced examination is yet to be delivered and this criterion may change later).
  • A candidate should have appeared for Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2018 or 2019.
  • Candidates should not have been admitted in an IIT before.

International students will have to fulfill the same criteria, except for the first criterion. It is not compulsory for international students to appear in JEE Main to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2019.
