In July last year, the Human Resources Development (HRD) Ministry formally announced that National testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the JEE Main completely online and twice a year – once in January and once in April. The January session of the JEE Main 2019 was conducted from 9th – 12th January and the results were declared on 19th January. The April session of JEE Main 2019 will also be conducted as a computer-based test except the drawing test in Paper II.
The official dates for JEE Main April 2019 have been announced by NTA and the application forms will be available from 8th February to 7th March. Since the NTA will be conducting the entire JEE Main examination, it is also responsible for the registration process. Once a candidate registers himself/herself, they will also have to select their preferred exam date, time slot, and the centre. When filling online applications, candidates shall also need scanned copies of the requisite documents in specified file sizes (and/or dimensions). The list of important dates for JEE Main April 2019 have been released by the NTA. Candidates must note that Paper I will be conducted in two sessions and Paper II will be conducted in a single shift.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main April 2019
All candidates that wish to register themselves for JEE Main April 2019 must meet the eligibility criteria as set by the governing body. Candidates are advised to read the complete set of eligibility criteria before they begin filling the application form. Candidates that fail to meet the eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2019 shall not be allowed to appear for the examination. The detailed eligibility criteria for JEE Main April 2019 is as given below:
- Age Limit – Age limit is no longer an eligibility criterion. All candidates who appeared and passed 12th standard board exams in the year 2017, 2018 or shall be appearing for the same in 2019, are eligible to attempt the JEE Main April 2019.
- Academic – Candidates wishing to attempt the JEE Main April 2019 must have passed their 12th standard board exams (or equivalent).
- Subjects – Candidates must have qualified the following subjects – Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject and Language. For candidates who wish to appear for Paper II also must have cleared 12th standard (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

JEE Main April 2019 – Application Forms
The JEE Main April 2019 online application forms shall be available from 8th February to 7th March 2019.
Before candidates start filling out the JEE Main April 2019 application form, they should ensure that they have all requisite documents as specified. Documents such as the candidate’s photograph and signature must be scanned, uploaded and attached with the online JEE Main April 2019 application.
Apart from mandatory certificates, photograph and signatures, candidates must also keep the following documents handy when filling the application form:
- Aadhar Card or Aadhar Enrollment number.
- Email ID and Mobile number.
- Scanned images of candidate’s photograph, the signature of candidate and guardian as per given specifications.
- 10th standard and 12th standard details.
- In case the fee is to be paid online, also keep debit/credit card or net banking details handy.
When filling the online application for JEE Main April 2019, candidates should use a computer that has a stable internet connection.
How to fill the JEE Main April 2019 online application form?
For the April session of the JEE Main 2019, NTA shall open registrations from 8th February, 2019. Candidates shall have 30 days to register, fill applications and make payment for the JEE Main April 2019. The last day to apply for the April session is 7th March, 2019.

Correcting details on JEE Main April 2019 application form
Once the online application process for JEE Main April 2019 ends, the NTA shall announce a pre-defined time window when candidates can correct certain details on their application form. Usually, candidates who haven’t made the payment are unable to make corrections.
Resetting password for JEE Main April 2019 application form
In case a candidate forgets his/her JEE Main April 2019 application form password – they shall be able to reset it by answering the security question set during the application process. After this, a verification code (OTP – one-time password) will be sent to the registered mobile number and a reset link will be sent to registered email ID. Once the verification code is submitted the candidate will be able to reset the password.
