NTSE Tamil Nadu 2019-20: How to Apply, Dates, Eligibility

NTSE Tamil Nadu’s online registrations have started from 22nd August 2019, and the last date for registration is 7th September 2019.

NTSE Tamil Nadu will be conducted on 3rd November 2019. NTSE Tamil Nadu is conducted by Directorate of Government Examinations, Tamil Nadu. The official NTSE 2019-20 notification was released by NCERT last month.

NTSE Tamil Nadu Eligibility Criteria

Students of Tamil Nadu studying in class 10th of any government recognised school from Tamil Nadu are eligible to appear for the exam.

Students registered under Open Distance are also eligible to appear for NTSE Tamil Nadu. Students should also fulfil the following conditions:

  • Should be below 18 years in age (as on 1st July 2019)
  • Should not be employed
  • Should be appearing in Class 10th examination for the first time

NTSE Tamil Nadu Application Process

Students of Tamil Nadu are required to apply for NTSE Tamil Nadu from their school only. The Headmaster/ Head of Institute can download the sufficient number of application forms from the official website of DGE, Tamil Nadu.

Students need to fill the forms and submit them back to their respective schools with the application fee of Rs.50 in cash before 7th September 2019. The schools need to verify the forms and upload them online further.

NTSE Tamil Nadu Exam Pattern

Tamil Nadu NTSE will be held in offline mode or pen-paper based. The question paper is divided into two sections – Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Tests (SAT).

MAT: The questions in this section are designed to judge the ability to think, power of reasoning, ability to judge, evaluate, visualise in space, etc.

SAT: The questions in this section are further divided into Science, Mathematics, and Social Sciences.

NTSE Tamil Nadu Result

NTSE Tamil Nadu Result 2019-20 will be tentatively declared in February 2020. Tamil Nadu NTSE Answer Key will be released sometime before the result declaration.

The results will be in the form of a merit list. It will contain the roll numbers and other details of the students.
