The JEE Main 2018 offline paper is finally over and it’s the hottest topic of discussion amongst the JEE aspirants, particularly the students who’ll be taking the online JEE Main on April 15. The three-hour long offline examination was held from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM across various exam centres in the country on Sunday.

The question paper has been analysed by experts at myPAT to help students determine their level of performance and chances of getting admission into various engineering colleges. Overall, chemistry was set to be the easiest, while physics and mathematics were of moderate difficulty. Here is a break-up of the question count from Grade 11 and 12 syllabus:
Chemistry
Students who have taken the JEE Main 2018 could largely attempt chemistry within a time span of an hour on an average. While most of them were NCERT based, questions from inorganic chemistry seemed a little easy to attempt and were scoring. Organic chemistry had some questions that were out of NCERT portion and physical chemistry questions were calculation-intensive, taking up a lot of time. Here is a topic-wise breakup:

Physics
The questions from this section were difficult in comparison to the previous year. 50% of questions were asked from Mechanics while Electrostatics, Modern Physics, Heat and Thermodynamics were the other topics that were tested in this section.
Math
Math section was lengthy and time-consuming. 60% of the questions were based on Calculus and Algebra and were slightly tricky to attempt. Most of the questions were calculation-intensive and quite a few students were switching between physics and math to ensure that all familiar questions across both the sections were attempted. While 60% of the paper was easy, a lot of students were not able to complete the paper because 50% of the questions consumed a lot of time.
