NTSE Himachal Pradesh: Application Process, Eligibility Criteria

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) Himachal Pradesh registrations have begun, and the last date of registration is 7th September 2019. NTSE Himachal Pradesh will be held on 3rd November 2019. It is conducted by the State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Himachal Pradesh.

NCERT recently released the official NTSE 2019-20 notification. The exam will be held in offline mode or pen-paper based.

NTSE Himachal Pradesh Important Dates 2019-20

The last date for registration and the exam date has been announced for NTSE. Following are all the important dates for NTSE Himachal Pradesh:

The reporting time for the exam is 9.30 AM and it will be conducted in two sessions: Session I (MAT) from 10 AM – 12 PM and Session II (SAT) from 2 PM – 4 PM.

NTSE Himachal Pradesh Application Process

The application form for NTSE Himachal Pradesh can be filled in offline mode by downloading the form from the official website of SCERT Himachal Pradesh. Students can also collect the form manually from the State Liaison Officer.

Following are the steps to download the application form:

  1. Visit the official website of SCERT Himachal Pradesh.
  2. Navigate to the ‘Announcements / Notice Board’ section on the homepage.
  3. Click on the ‘Application Form & Admit Card for State Level 2019-20’ link.
  4. Download the form and take a print out.
  5. Fill the form correctly.

Note:

  • The admit card should be attached with the application form. It will be later returned after the allotment of roll numbers.
  • The filled application form should be submitted at Principal, State Council of Educational Research & Training, Rabon, Solan (H.P.) Pin Code-173 211.

State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Himachal Pradesh, is responsible for conducting NTSE Himachal Pradesh under the guidelines of NCERT. Any information or enquiry for Himachal Pradesh exam centers can be made from the Principal, SCERT – Solan.

NTSE Himachal Pradesh Application Fee

The application fee for General Category students is Rs. 50 (Rs. 40 for Reserved Categories). Students must send the IPO/Demand Draft in favour of Principal, SCERT Solan (H.P.)-Payable at Solan.

NTSE Himachal Pradesh Eligibility Criteria

The basic eligibility criteria to apply for NTSE HP is that the students applying must be in class 10th from a recognized board. Students enrolled in Open Distance Learning (ODL) are also eligible for the scholarship.

Students must also fulfill the below-given conditions:

  • Should have scored minimum 60% in 9th class (55% for reserved categories).
  • Should be below 18 years in age (of that particular year)
  • Should not be employed
  • Should be appearing in Class 10th examination for the first time

NTSE Himachal Pradesh Exam Pattern

The question paper is divided into two sections – Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Tests (SAT).

MAT: The questions in this section are designed to judge the ability to think, power of reasoning, ability to judge, evaluate, visualise in space, etc.

SAT: The questions in this section are further divided into Science, Mathematics, and Social Sciences.

NTSE Himachal Pradesh Result

NTSE HP Results will be tentatively declared on February 2020. NTSE HP Answer Key will be released sometime before the result declaration. SCERT will release an official notification for the same.

The results will be in the form of a merit list. It will contain the roll numbers and other details of the students.
